Volunteer Groups

• 2nd Chances Foundation need assistance in the following programs:
• Operation: Every Mom Counts – January - April
• Operation: Daddy We Need U – From January - April 
• Operation: Birthday Bash – All year long
• We are looking for someone who has a heart for service, someone who may have experience in writing encouraging message on cards.
• You will also need to: write messages, stuff the envelopes, and package the cards.
• You are allowed to bring cards as well. Please write on the left side of the card. 
• You must sign the card either Love God or Love Jesus.
• We give you a two-week time frame to return the cards to us. 
• You must pick the cards up are the designated location and return them the designated time.
• We ask that you take a minimum of thirty cards to write on.  Groups of 5 or 10 welcomed.
• Age 16 yrs older
•  This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer run. We welcome volunteers located anywhere in the world if they can connect reliably to the internet. Contact us info@2ndchancesfoundation    

Volunteer Groups/Individuals

• Family Holiday Meal Sponsor
• Christmas Care Packages
• We are looking for groups who are willing to serve for 1-3 hours and pack assorted items for the homeless.
•  Groups of 5 with a max of 10  people.   Willing to serve 1 -3 days out of the month.
• Age 16 yrs older
•  This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer run. 
• 1 yr commitment

Volunteer Drivers

 BECOME A Volunteer DRIVER 

Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver care packages. Once a month or on special holidays we host. We ask all packages to be delivered on a weekday between Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Care packages are not delivered on weekends, holidays or during periods of inclement weather.) Monthly routes take about 1.45 to complete. We try our best to put you on a route that is close to your home. Commitment can vary depending upon the number of packages needed to be delivered. All assignments are first come first serve basis.  We ask that you volunteer for at least 3 months.   Two Locations Available: Alamance County, Guilford County, Raleigh, Orange County in North Carolina, Please call to see if your county is available with the states we cover. 

Eligibility

 Eligibility Requires: a car, a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and proof of automobile insurance. To qualify you must also pass a criminal background check, paid by 2 ND Chances Foundation.  Questions: Please text at 888-401-0114 or email us if you are interested in volunteering.

Community Coach  

• Provides 60-minute Christian Biblical counseling, therapy, to clients as appropriate to the position; prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs.

Duties

•  Collects data about patients through interview, case history, psychological tests, and/or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify causes of problems and to determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialists.
•  Provides casework management of a specialized caseload, as appropriate to the requirements of the individual position; performs research and case assessments; prepares individualized studies for admission, placement, and/or discharge, as applicable.
• Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in a crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems.
• Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment used; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery.
• Consults with other legal and treatment agencies and individuals in relation to patient/client records, rights, and responsibilities.
• Consults with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required.
• Participates in the review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures. This is a volunteer position. Volunteer - Financial Literacy Coach

• Conduct client financial      coaching through small-group sessions.
• Competently assess      clients’ current financial situations through review of their tax returns,      financial accounts, credit reports, etc.
• Have clear understanding   of how to ascertain clients’ income, assets, debt, and credit scores by      reviewing their financial records.
• Demonstrated ability to  calculate financial health markers (debt-to-income ratio, net worth,    etc.).
• Ability to document  results, conduct accurate measurements, and generate outcome reports.
• Must have the necessary      skill sets to empathize with clients about their financial situations,      while also providing motivation and moving clients toward positive action.
• Clearly define financial coaching and has a deep knowledge of a financial      coach’s role.
• Must possess the content      knowledge required to give clients high-quality and timely financial      education.
• Effective communication      skills, both verbal and non-verbal; and excellent writing skills.
• Teach financial education      materials to individuals and groups in alignment with financial      coaching standards.
• Financial coaches must have passed a criminal background  check
• You must have availability for a minimum of  2 day a weeks, for 3 hours in the afternoon 
• 1 year minimum
•  Data Entry Certification and Finances 
•  Work Location: Fully Remote

•  Responsible for assisting kitchen personnel in areas of need:
•  (line servers, dishwashers, helping to set up for meals and helping to clean up after meals). Assist in some preparation of food (ex. Plate desserts, brew coffee, make ice tea, etc.). Responsible to help keep the  kitchen area clean and organized.

Accountability 

• The board secretary is an executive member of the board of directors of the Association and is to be appointed in a manner consistent with the bylaws.
• He/she is accountable to the Board and, like other members of the board, has no authority to direct staff or act on matters outside the duties outlined in their position description. 

Time Commitment

• Term of Office Two years (unless otherwise determined) 
• Forty hours month (board meetings, executive committee meeting and secretarial duties as described below) 
• High level of integrity, a strong work ethic, confidence, and a sense of humor.
• Ability to work with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced, dynamic, early-stage fundraising environment.
•  Strong track record of successfully adjusting plans and goals based on changing the landscape of resources, opportunities, and strategy
• Computer software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Fundraising software, PowerPoint) a distinct advantage
• Experience/interest in homeless, faith, counseling, social work and community  development preferred.
• Demonstrated achievements in nonprofit fundraising.
• Demonstrated facility with computer software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Fundraising software, PowerPoint) a distinct advantage.
• The Secretary will work closely with the Chair of the Board and the CEO in the planning of board of directors and association meetings. 
• The secretary of the board shall be responsible for ensuring 

Primary Duties:

• The creation and timely distribution of agenda for Board meetings) and Association membership meetings (e.g., annual general meeting) 
• The accurate recording and distribution of the minutes of Board of Directors meetings. The minutes should reflect that the format and level of detail that the Board has determined 
• The creation and maintenance of an up-to-date board planning calendar outlining matters to be on the board’s agenda over the course of a year 
• Maintenance of a full contact list of board members including board member appointment dates, term of appointments and board member bios
• If the Secretary is unable to attend a meeting where minutes or notes are to be taken, it is the secretary’s responsibility to inform the Vice President. 
• The updating, maintaining and safe storage of the Association’s Minute Books

and other legal documents

•  Oversight of the Association’s incorporation and charitable registration status and the facilitation of all annual filings of required reports and information.
•  The maintenance of a file or manual of governance policies and a systematic schedule for their review as determined by the board. 
• The maintenance of an up-to-date list of members of the Association8
•  The management of external correspondence and ensuring that requests made of the Board of Directors, or relevant to the governance of the Association, is reported and responded to in a timely manner.
• The accurate recording and distribution of the minutes of the Association’s Annual General Meeting is managed appropriately. In the event of a change of Secretary at an AGM, the incoming secretary will assume the responsibilities of the office at the first Directors’ meeting following his/her election or appointment. Qualifications The secretary ought to have:
• A commitment to, and a clear understanding of the mission of the organization
• Willing to train
• Knowledge of the meeting procedures, decision-making rules, governance policies and the bylaws of the Association 
• An adequate level of writing proficiency and access to a computer for word processing purposes
